Apollo 11: 50th anniversary

Watching the first steps on the moon… exactly 50 years later. Since Parkes is in Australia, the Apollo 11 moon landing happened on 21 July 1969 12:56pm local time (when it was still 20 July 1969 in America).

A large crowd gathered at the Dish for the anniversary. There were speeches and the moon walk was shown on the big screen in almost real time (just delayed by 50 years).
