New York

I had a quick one day transit through New York. Landed in the morning; caught the Metro out to Manhattan; saw a few sights and shops; had dinner with friends in Brooklyn; and flew out that evening. Not the usual way to see New York, but it was still very enjoyable. When you have only one day, you make the most of every minute and the day is filled with memorable highlights.

Wall Street

Since this was a World Economic Stimulus Tour (WEST), the natural place to visit was Wall Street.

Apple Store on 5th Avenue

This is the iconic “glass cube” Apple Store on 5th Avenue.

The outside of the store is a large glass cube.

A glass staircase and elevator descends from the glass cube into the store.

The glass cube is made up of many glass panels. Since these photos were taken, th store has been refurbished: there is still a glass cube, but is made up of fewer and larger glass panels.
